About the Breed
​
Long coat German Shepherds can be characterized physically by their fluffy appearance, and the tufts of fur around their ears, on the backs of their legs, in between the toes of the paws, on their hindquarters, and around the tail
​
Long haired German Shepherds are a rare sight. Most do not have an undercoat giving the coat a shinier appearance. The long coat does not shed any more than a standard short coat.
